A conventional career path for translators is to start in-house, then to go freelance once you have some experience under your belt. But what about doing it the other way round? In January 2022, I sat down with Karen Tkaczyk FITI to compare notes about our respective moves from freelancing back into in-house, what prompted the change and how we find it after the freedom and flexibility of freelancing.
